March Restaurant Visit for Lunch

Madras Pavilion, vegetarian Indian cuisine
2928 Guadalupe Street, Austin [map]
Saturday March 22nd at 12:00pm

Madras is an all-vegetarian restaurant with both south and north India style food. There is a large buffet with many vegan choices. Madras won Critics' Best South Indian Vegetarian Food in 2006 and 2007, and has what the Austin Chronicle calls, "arguably Austin's finest South Indian vegetarian cuisine." Their review also said "food like this" will make people "forget" to be "carnivores".

You do not have to be a VNA member; all our events are free for anyone to attend. Children and families are welcome as well. Please help us prepare the restaurant for our visit by sending an RSVP email to our Events Director.

March Executive Board Meeting

The VNA holds a meeting of its Executive Board about once a month. VNA dues-paying members are always welcome to join our board meetings. For anyone who's interested in getting involved with the VNA's activities, serving on committees, or just helping us plan the VNA's future, we encourage you to come give your input. If you're interested in attending, please email our Chairman, Brendan Good for details on how to join the meeting and where it will be held.

March Potluck Dinner and Annual Directorship Meeting

Home of Nancy Woolley
5107 Crestway Drive [map]
Saturday, March 8th at 6:30pm

You do not have to be a VNA member to attend our monthly potluck gatherings.

Please join us for our regular monthly potluck for March. Everyone is welcome, including families, children, new vegetarians and vegans, and the "veg-curious". Our potlucks are free for anyone to attend, you don't have to be a VNA member.

This potluck will also serve as our annual membership meeting for elections of new officers to the Executive Board. If you are a dues-paying Director of the VNA, please try to attend as we want your vote to count! If you'd like to join the VNA to participate in the direction of the VNA and help support our future endeavors, you can join online at our join page.

The officer positions that are open this year are Secretary, Membership Director, and Events Director. These positions are not difficult to handle despite their official titles. The Secretary has the easiest job, simply taking the minutes for our board meetings, one weeknight each month, and emailing them out after they've been formatted. The Events Director, along with the Board, plans our group's potlucks, restaurant visits and other activities. The Membership Director maintains the database of Directors, sends out renewal notices, and works on projects to increase our membership roles and perks. If you're interested in serving in either position, please send an email to our Communications Director.

Please bring a VEGAN dish that can serve 8 plus a serving utensil, as well as your own plate, utensils, and beverage. Also bring your recipe or a list of ingredients to help those with food sensitivities.
